Fall/Winter Happenings

We've already been in our new house for 3 months and just enjoyed our first Christmas here. Between Dustin being sworn into the Michigan Bar in November, me breaking my wrist in December, and being busy with work and the holidays, time has been flying by.

I love mystery novels and this one was a gift from Dustin and is set in Ann Arbor.

Mexico!

Well, Dustin made it through the bar exam! We are still waiting for his results. He won't find out whether he passed until around Thanksgiving. After three years of law school, bar exam prep, and taking the bar exam, we decided to take a vacation! We went to Riviera Maya to an all-inclusive couples only resort for a week. It was amazing! Here was the view from our room... We ate alot of great food,
saw an awesome fire show on the beach,

relaxed and read on the beach, floated in the pool,
walked in the surf down the beach,
We also did two off-site excursions, which were the highlights of our trip. Our first trip was to the Mayan Ruins, Chichen Itza. It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and was very interesting to see. Very hot...but great to see!
Our second excursion was snorkeling at three different sites (cenote--sinkhole with crystal clear fresh water, an underground cave, and a lagoon leading out into the Caribbean Sea).
I jumped off a 25 ft. cliff into the water at the cenote!

The underground cave was probably our favorite.

Dune Buggying on Lake Michigan!

Okay, this was forever ago, but here we go....Over Memorial Day weekend, Dustin and I went to Silver Lake Sand Dunes and Ludington State Park with my family. We rode a dune buggy on the dunes to see the sights. It was awesome with some incredible views! This is us before leaving on our dune buggy.

And on the beach.

After riding bikes, we climbed to the top of the lighthouse.

The view from the top was pretty amazing.

I am the very proud wife!

After the ceremony, we took pictures in the Quad with family...

And with friends...

The lifting buddies!

And we can't forget about the cousin who graduated in the same class...

After the ceremony, we held a graduation celebration open house....

At the end of the evening, Mama was pooped! She had done a lot of work.

"Wowity"

In comparing two softball players, Jen explained that while one player was a solid hitter, she did not hit with as much "wowity" as another.

My response, 'Did you just say "wowity"? How do you spell that? Do you hyphenate it?'

I think the word "wowity" is wonderful because it is both ridiculous and hilarious. I suggest that we all add it to our vocabulary.

How do you define "wowity"? Here's my best shot: Wowity (wou-i-tee) noun. Propensity to wow; impressiveness.

Dustin's 27th Birthday!

Dustin turned 27 on Thursday, February 5. It's crazy to think that he is 27 (I'm still a very young 26 :) ) because I can easily remember him turning 17. Time really does fly! I created a Dustin Scavenger Hunt, which took him all over the house looking for clues and ultimately finding his birthday gifts in the bathtub. I figured he needed to work a little for it! He ate his birthday dinner of choice--manicotti--before opening his Seinfeld Scene-It DVD game and his Michigan chair. Since there were so many candles on the birthday carrot cake, he set the fire alarm off in the living room with the smoke when he blew them out....Interesting way to cap off a great birthday! Dustin is a wonderful husband and I've been lucky to celebrate so many birthdays with him.
